- Lisa Bennett

Students across Marin County are asking their schools to do better. It’s time to bridge the gap between the people who govern our schools, and the families whose children are in them.

I have active connections with teachers, families, and young people across Marin County. I am the director of a local youth program, an LGBTQ+ first generation college graduate, and a passionate activist for racial equity and rights for people with disabilities. I provide equity trainings to schools, nonprofits, and governmental agencies, have worked for a nonprofit serving the disability community, and previously served on the board for the National Council on Independent Living.

We need to ensure that all students across the county have access to the highest quality education possible. We must meet the diverse needs of our communities and prioritize the wellbeing of our teachers, students, and families. I will advocate for curriculum and programs to teach the skills and knowledge youth need to be successful in the world today.
